Complete Guide to Migrating Your VPS to LinuxPro

Move websites and apps to LinuxPro with less downtime: DNS, files, databases, and cutover checklist.

Migrating a VPS does not have to mean a long outage. Lower your DNS TTL to 300 seconds a day before cutover so the final switch propagates faster.

Order your LinuxPro plan first, confirm SSH/RDP access, then copy application files and databases during a quiet window. Keep the old server running until you verify the new one.

Test the new IP with hosts-file overrides before changing public DNS. Check SSL certificates, cron jobs, environment variables, and mail/SMTP settings.

When ready, update DNS A/AAAA records to the new LinuxPro IP and watch logs for 30–60 minutes. Keep a rollback IP change ready if something critical fails.
